My name is La Mar Richardson. After 25 years of service at a Fortune 500 company—just five months shy of retirement eligibility—I was handed my walking papers.   I wasn’t surprised; workforce changes had become the norm. What shook me wasn’t the layoff itself—it was the realization that I had no personal brand, no roadmap, and no real understanding of my value beyond that building’s walls. 

I had spent decades climbing the ladder: leading in Operations, mentoring in Human Resources, building impactful programs, and guiding others through transformation. Yet when it was time to bet on myself, I didn’t know where to start. 

That moment changed everything. 

I made a decision: never again would I be unprepared.
I began the real work—clarifying my identity, cataloging my value, and reconnecting with who I was outside the title on my badge. And through that process, I found my truth.  

Coaching wasn’t new—it had always been woven into how I led, mentored, and served. Now, it would become my mission.
